A note on the notebook

Decided, but still asking.

This is an anonymous author’s independent research website for California’s November 3, 2026 election. The recorded votes come from the author. The opening thoughts are reconstructed drafts awaiting approval.

What the labels mean

Fact
A descriptive claim checked against a cited source. A fact about what a proposal says is not a guarantee about its effects.
Estimate
A forecast with uncertainty, including LAO fiscal estimates. It is not a measured outcome.
Campaign allegation
An attributed assertion made in advocacy. Inclusion does not establish its truth.
Interpretation
Editorial reasoning or a policy consideration. Paired arguments on baseline pages are provisional analytical summaries, not quotations from campaigns.
Unknown / pending
Evidence is missing, incomplete, or not independently checked. Missing finance data never means zero funding.

Source priorities

Official ballot descriptions and the nonpartisan LAO analysis establish the baseline. The proposed law controls the legal text; full statutory audits remain pending. Campaign arguments are labeled as advocacy. Sources appear beside claims and are grouped under each research section.

Money requires its own footnotes

Dates describe the coverage of each disclosure, not merely when we read it. Contributions, spending, loans and cash balances answer different questions. Transfers can count the same dollars twice, and a committee can cover more than one measure. We do not combine incompatible snapshots or claim a unique-donor total without reconciliation.

What is complete?

All 14 measures have an official-source baseline and the author’s recorded vote. Proposition 45 is the detailed reference draft. Final author explanations, fuller research, donor tracing and endorsements remain pending. Research reviewed October 28, 2026.
